In the Cho Lon area, there used to be popular folklore songs such as "Nhat Duong Chi," "Nhi Thien Đuong," "Tam Tong Mieu," "Tu Đo Tuong," "Ngũ Vi Huong," and "Luc Tau Xa." Among these, Nhi Thien Đuong oil stood out as a remedy for various ailments, earning the title of the 'miracle oil.'

After many fluctuations in the Nhi Thien Đuong brand, on June 22, 1991, Mr. Le Vinh Thọ officially terminated the use of the name and trademark Nhi Thien Đuong. After nearly 21 years absent from the market, Nhi Thien Đuong oil returned in 2012 under the ownership of entrepreneur Le Thi Giau in Vietnam. In 2023, Nhi Thien Đuong oil regained its former glory in the Vietnamese market.

History of Nhi Thien Đuong oil:

Since 17 century, the "Budha" brand of medicines developed by Wei Dai Shan became prevalent in the Hong Kong market. In 1905, Wei Jing Chan, Wei Dai Shan's son, established "Chau A Nhi Thien Đuong" pharmacy at 47 Rue De Caton, Telephoneno 58, under the directorship of Wei Jing Chan, in Cho Lon, now Trieu Quang Phuc, District 05 - Ho Chi Minh City.

In 1920, as Nhi Thien Đuong oil became famous and faced counterfeiting, Vi Khai published the medical book "Ve Sinh Chi Nam" to promote the product and discourage counterfeit products. The book was periodically published until 1939. In 1925, the owner of Nhi Thien Đuong proposed to build the Nhi Thien Đuong Bridge across the Đoi Canal to facilitate transportation from Cần Giuoc to Sai Gòn for both residents and his workers.

In 1930, the brand expanded its production to Hong Kong and Guangzhou, China. In Vietnam, Wei Shao Ba opened branches at 76 Hang Buồm Street in Hanoi and 18 Gia Hoi Street in Hue. In 1932, the owner of Nhi Thien Đuong was awarded the "Long Bao Tinh" by the French government for his contributions. In 1933, he was recognized in the Dong Duong Annual Report for his achievements and contributions.

In 1938, Nhi Thien Đuong Pharmacy had stores in Guangdong, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok, Singapore, Java, Phnom Penh, Hanoi, and Cho Lon. In 1940, the founder passed away, and his sons Co Trạch and Co An continued the business. From 1969 to 1979, Lam Vinh Thọ was delegated by Nhi Thien Đuong Pharmacy (Hong Kong) to continue production in Vietnam. In 1975, the Vi family left Vietnam, and the Nhi Thien Đuong brand ceased production in the country but continued abroad.

After April 30, 1975, due to numerous fake Nhi Thien Đuong products, the Ho Chi Minh City government encouraged Lam Thọ Vinh to produce authentic Nhi Thien Đuong oil. However, production ceased in 1976 due to a lack of raw materials.

Nhi Thien Đuong makes a comeback...

In 2012, the Nhi Thien Đuong brand, specifically the Đong Nam Duoc Nhi Thien Đuong Company, was repurchased by entrepreneur Le Thi Giau in Vietnam, reviving the production of Nhi Thien Đuong and continuing its legacy of serving devoted fans of the product."

Ms. Le Thi Giau - Chairman of Dong Nam Nhi Thien Duong Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement with Mr. Yun Byunghwa - CEO of The Zone Corporation Co.
